Al Poindexter plays at folk festivals and coffee houses in North Florida.  He appears at the Florida Folk Festival in White Springs, memorial day weekend.  He also plays at festivals in Barberville and Jacksonville.  He plays weekly at the Three Layers Coffee House in Springfield and has played at the Derby House and FIve Points Coffee and Spice in Five Points

Al plays old time bottleneck blues on a national stell resonator guitar and folk music and clawhammer banjo.  He performs mostly roots music but also some songs that he wrote or some friends wrote.

Al has been president of the Florida Banjo Society for 2009 and 2010.
